Yama (Moral Conducts or Self Controls) :

Yama (Moral conducts or Self controls) is the first step or limb of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga. Yama has 5 following aspects which ought to be practiced in every situation, time and location to enjoy the best result of Yoga. You should not give any reason that that situation or that time or that location was not favorable why I violated any of them.

  1. Ahimsa (non-violence)
  2. Satya (truthfulness)
  3. Asteya (non-stealing)
  4. Brahmacharya (celibacy)
  5. Aparigraha (non-cravings)

i. Ahimsa (non-violence): Unless and until you won't be well established in non-violence you can't expect the perfection in Yoga. And as above we've suggested that it is not expected to omit in any time, location and situation. When you become perfect in non-violence every even life-taking being will not harm you at any more.

ii. Satya (truthfulness): Truthfulness is also essential for perfection in even Asana and Pranayama then what about to meditation which is the based on truth only. That Universal Consciousness loves to them only who are truthful and abstain from falsehood. When you become perfect in truthfulness that happens whatsoever you shall speak be that be auspicious or inauspicious.

iii. Asteya (non-stealing) : Non-stealing is a great supporting element of in perfection in Yoga. When you perfect in non-stealing the Great Universe gives you everything you require.

iv. Brahmacharya (celibacy) : Brahmacharya is the most important ingredient of Yoga. It gives you the energy which is the cause of enthusiasm. The older the Brahmacharya the intense is the enthusiasm. This is the invincible enemy of torpor, dullness and sloth ness. This is the cause of earnestness. When you become perfect and older in celibacy you become the eligible of Yoga. So long it doesn't become mature you are tender in Yoga and you can't be called as a Real Yogi or Yogini.

v. Aparigraha (non-cravings) : Aparigraha bestows you the prosperity.

A perfect and Real Yogi/Yogini doesn't compromise in any of five yamas in any circumstance, moment and place. And when any one passes this first class then there is permission for entrance into second class that is Niyama (observances), which is the second part/limb of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga.
